Well a new journey has begun...one I am not sure I can maintain. I thought blogging for myself would help me keep track and persevere. We shall see.... I have started the road to becoming a "Veggie" my term for Vegetarian can't quite go to Vegan. I don't seem to be compassionate enough to go there. I mean honestly taking honey from bees...beyond me besides bears do it LOL!!! However, Manuel and I need a road to new health --- I for one cannot digest meat well and he well he needs a change his cholesterol is just to high and so is his bp. He has already had a brush with cancer so I am hoping this will keep him around longer.
I see many challenges ahead--I must eat protein and am hoping plant based protein will suffice and well honestly not willing to give up chocolate at this time. Finding food that is quick and easy is also proving to be interesting--you can only eat so much peanut butter!!! This will also mean taking food to work -- sigh --- it is so much easier to run downstairs and get food but they don't lean toward the "Veggie" world at least not with protein sources. I am hoping that we will both lose weight and a lot of our pain (you know the old joints) will subside and that my blood sugar will stay level. However, I must admit I found myself eating a brownie after my vegan soup LOL!!! So we have begun what I hope is a new road and that leads to health, happiness and feeling a hell of a lot better!!!

Good luck with that....at least you've taken the initial step. I always hesitate starting something life changing because it's a giant commitment and I always let myself down by not following through. Your motives are pure and good and you've done your homework. I think the key will be having a great support team and people that will help keep you motivated and accountable. I look forward to hearing of your success!!
